The much awaited Deccan Shuttle service is finally starting services in Gandhidham (Kandla) on 27th August. Though the planes are small, Deccan will operate 2+2 = 4 flights a day, enough to cater the need of the area. Aircraft used is Cessna Grand Caravan 208 B with 9 seats.
The tentative schedule of the service is as below, and all the trips are priced 5400 Rs at present.

Once again we have to satisfy our needs with one drop of water, when we are a day thirsty. Haven't anyone studied the feasibility of this shuttle. It hardly takes 4 hours drive by road to reach ahmedabad easily. And if we check in and travel by this shuttle would be almost equal time. And again this is too costlier - either one would prefer to hire a taxi and move to ahmedabad at the desired point and desired time.
To me Gandhidham should be given to and fro connectivity of route Chennai/bangalore - via Gandhidham - Delhi.
Gandhidham - via Ahmedabad - Kolkotta.
Agree about the 4 hours drive thing. Check-ins take minimum 45minutes, and the airports are out of city in both cities. So 4 hours are natural.
